Administration

Justin Foster

President

My wife and I are both pilots. In 2012 we moved to Longview, TX. where we were introduced to TECH Team Advantage, where I felt led by the Lord to help. While in college I started writing and designing websites to help myself through flight school and I always felt like I was supposed to use this skill set for God’s kingdom. My career offers a schedule that allows me to serve at TECH putting my web design skills to work for furthering God’s Kingdom. We were commissioned by Menifee Hills Bible Church in California.

I am now serving full time as president of TECH Team.

Birne Wiley

Founder

As a pastors son I developed the vision for a mission that would support other missions and Christian workers with Technical helps. I served in Alaska with InterAct Ministries and as a professor at LeTourneau University before founding Missionary TECH Team (TECH Team Advantage) in 1968. I was commissioned by Mulberry Springs Baptist Church in 1969. With a BS in Industrial Engineering, Building Construction and Design, over the years I have become highly skilled in ministry administration, public speaking and mission policy. Further experience has been gained through Board membership with the Association of North American Missions and LeTourneau University.

Lynella Wiley

Business Administration

My parents, who served in pastorates and then founded a mission, instilled in me passion for evangelism and discipleship. Employment at Moody Bible Institute and at a music publisher provided invaluable experience. I graduated from Moody (1970) and became a faith-supported missionary at Drive-In Ministries as administrative assistant. In 1976 God brought me to serve alongside Birne in the mission he founded. I’ve been involved in hospitality of missionaries, extensive Mission travel and, after home schooling our sons, have served in the Business Office and wherever needed. It’s a blessing to serve on our church missions committee, ladies Bible study facilitator and small groups in our home, and mentoring women.

Kay Meadows

Payroll and Accounting

My husband Tim and I joined TECH Team in 2002. Since then, I have done many things including homeschooling our three sons, working as a tax preparer, and doing part-time accounting at both a university and a CPA office.  I am thankful to be back in the TECH Team office again using my accounting degree and working with others to assist missions and churches.  Serving and helping others has always been a focus of my life.  I believe it is a gift that God has given me.

Karen Myers

Administration Assistant

My husband, Bill, and I have served the Lord in construction related short-term mission projects since 1996. Retiring in 2012, we now travel in our RV doing this full-time by volunteering at TECH for a few months and various ministries around the country. I have 6 years experience as an Administrative Specialist in the Air National Guard and years of assisting my husband with his various construction related businesses. I enjoy assisting in anyway I can at TECH, being a receptionist, helping in Graphic Services, and helping my husband in the various maintenance and construction projects he is assigned.

Facility Solutions

Les Brown, PE

Team Lead

I am a Licensed Mechanical Engineer and LEED Accredited Professional. I have been a registered PE in 39 states. I first became acquainted with TECH Team at URBANA ’79 and soon after started providing HVAC and Plumbing engineering design for Facility Solutions projects by volunteering from my home in Fort Worth, Texas. Since 2004, I have increased my TECH involvement to now spending two days a week volunteering in the TECH office as the Facility Solutions manager, while continuing to work for an engineering firm in the Fort Worth area for the remaining three days a week

Eric Livingston

Architect

I graduated from Judson University in Elgin, Illinois with an M.Arch. in 2005. The previous year had been spent at TECH as part of the Internship Program in Facilities Planning. After graduation, the Lord led me back to TECH to serve for the next 2 years. In late 2007 the Lord opened a door for me to join a local architecture firm where I have spent the last 10 years in the design and construction administration of K-12 schools and churches. In 2016 the Lord began calling me back to TECH. My wife, Katie, and I are commissioned by Fellowship Bible Church Longview where I have served on the Deacon Board, Building Committee, and Master Planning Committee.

Bill Daniel

Landscape Designer

I received a B.S. Landscape Architecture from Texas A&M in 1975. I then worked as Grounds Manager for U.T. Memphis, and later, Landscape Designer for two design building firms in the Memphis area through 1991. As the Lord led, I worked with Missionary TECH as a volunteer Landscape Designer from 1982 through 1991. My wife Joyce and I were commissioned by Bellevue Baptist Church in March 1992 and became full-time faith-supported missionaries at TECH. Through TECH Team our family has been blessed to serve Evangelical missions, churches, schools, hospitals, clinics, camps and other ministries through site and landscape planning. I also serve as a deacon and sing in the choir at our local church.

Ken Selden, AIA

Senior Architect

As a NYS licensed Architect since 1973, I have designed projects for churches, schools, camps, hotels, residences and commercial buildings. As years passed, my desire to more fully serve the Lord increased. In 1990 I discovered MTT on the internet and began as a part-time long-distance volunteer. I joined the MTT staff in 2002 and dedicated my career to full-time Christian service. What a blessed decision! Katie, my wife, and I were commissioned by Randall Baptist Church in 2004. I now work from our NY home office half the year; the remainder is spent in our RV at MTT headquarters and traveling to project locations scattered across the USA.

Retiring in 2012 we served full time as volunteers in TECH’s Facility Solutions area and also with other construction related ministries. In 2021 we came on full time at just TECH Team. My roll as Construction Services Representative includes project management services during the construction phase of a client’s project. I also oversee the maintenance of the office, RV part, shop, grounds and TECH’s other property.

Mark Friend

Mark Friend

Team Lead

Growing up a Missionary Kid I never wanted to be a missionary! However, I desired to serve the Lord in youth ministry. In my senior year of Bible College God miraculously softened my heart, placing a call upon my life to serve Him in Faith Missions. My wife told me He had been working in her heart regarding missions too. A few weeks later at our churches mission’s conference the speaker asked who was willing to commit their lives to full time faith missions. We looked at each other, shrugged our shoulders and stood up.

In 2020, after ministering among Native Americans 22 years, God set us on a path that led us to continue serving Him in faith missions in a new and exciting way at TECH.

Teri Comroe

Graphic Designer

When I was called to full-time missions work God directed me to develop my artistic talents. I received a BA in Visual Communications and came to TECH in 2009 to dedicate my training and talent to helping others spread the gospel with good visual communication tools. In addition to graphic design, I have a passion for disciplining those struggling with their faith. I have foster parent training for severely abused children as well as a BA in Christian Education and a diploma in Watch and Clock Repair. New Hope Community Church in Lakewood Washington commissioned me and my husband Joe (now deceased).

Joel Kreider

Graphic Designer, Print Production

I would categorize my journey somewhat akin to a certain child’s learning tool; the wooden box, with different shaped holes and corresponding colored pegs. Except, one arm of the star has been broken just enough, so it fits through the square opening. Still part of the group, just not the normal entrance…or peg. Not sure which color I am tho – I digress. Longview is my home town, and the extent of my college education is a course in jewelry making and repair. I volunteered at TECH for about a year. After that, I invested 2 yrs & 2 summers at www.hishill.org. What I practice now, I’ve developed through good ol’ fashioned on-the-job training, and just over 10 years of apprenticeship. Just the way it should be…for me.

David Leventry

Display Production Facilitator

After obtaining Associates in Architectural Drafting and ACADD from Lancaster Institute of Drafting, I worked building mobile home trusses and My wife Nancy and I worked with a mission called Camp of the Nations; Nancy as a secretary and I as a Printer/construction assistant. I grew up on the mission field in Venezuela, have always had a heart for missions and have always enjoyed serving others so when I heard about TECH Team Advantage it was a perfect fit for me. We were commissioned by Grace Fellowship Church of Ephrata in Pennsylvania and joined the Team in 1991. I also help teach AWANA and love helping others in my spare time.

Debbie Friend

Graphic Designer

In 1996, during a Missions Conference at our commissioning church, Pleasant Grove Bible Church, my husband, Mark, and I made a covenant with God that we would serve Him in faith missions. God raised our support quickly and we began serving with Native Americans in 1997 until God moved us to serve Him with TECH Team Advantage in the fall of 2023. I have been able to work alongside Mark in the ministry and also serve our mission and missionaries with editing, graphics, and web design for magazines, newsletters, Bible studies, books, correspondence courses, videos, promotional materials, and websites. I am thankful God allows me to “know Christ and make Him known” with TECH Team Advantage.

Paul McWhirter

AV Consultant

I felt called to mission work in 2001 before my wife and I got married. I went to Full Sail University where I got a degree in recording and joined the U.S. Air Force in 2005 as an audio engineer for the Air Force Band in Georgia. In 2010, we moved to Colorado Springs where I worked for the Air Force Academy Band. I retired in 2020 and started looking for an opportunity to serve God and His church. I found Tech Team online and engaged in conversation with them about helping churches who need A/V support. I’m excited to be a part of a team and look forward to using my experience and knowledge to spread the Gospel.

John Freeman

Video Production Specialist

In January of 2008 we established Abba’s Video Services as a ministry to Christian organizations. This service was intended to provide free or “at- cost” videography and production services to selected Christian outreaches. Often doing video production work is cost prohibitive for smaller churches and Christian ministries. This service is provided to help churches, missions and other Christian based organizations get the video production work done without imposing excessive costs to the organization.

Katie Selden

Graphics Assistant

When Ken and I joined MTT I fully expected to continue in my support role to his architectural career. Little did I know that my life skills in artistic creativity were preparing me for Kingdom work. I soon discovered my niche working with staff who helped me develop additional skills necessary to create graphic products for Christian ministries. Also, there are many opportunities to use my hospitality gifts. We were commissioned in 2004 by our home church, Randall Memorial Baptist in Western New York State. We spend spring and fall months in our motor-home in the RV park at MTT headquarters.

Software Solutions

Tim Meadows

Team Lead

After receiving a BS in Computer Science and gaining 17 years of experience in various aspects of the computer field including software development and support, data conversions, networking and hardware, I couldn’t shake the sense that God was leading me serve missions and churches. My wife Kay and I were commissioned by Pleasant View Bible Church in Warsaw, IN and started with TECH in 2002.  While programming and software support is the primary way Software Solutions touches other ministries, I also oversee and assist with accounting as well as coordinate the vehicle lease ministry. God has also blessed me in being able to serve as an elder at a local C&MA church.

Dan Harding

Software Programer

I graduated from North Dakota State U. with a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics. After writing software for almost 25 years in the commercial world, God called me into writing software to help missions. He led me to TECH Team Advantage, which fit my calling. My wife Renee and I were commissioned at Faith Community Church in Maple Plain, MN and we joined TECH in 2003. I have enjoyed providing quality and sometimes in depth customer support, in addition to writing software and helping with the computer needs of missions and churches in whatever way I can.

Renee Harding

Software Tester

I have a degree in Christian Education and have home-schooled our 8 children. When Dan felt called to come to TECH Team Advantage in 2003 I supported him in that endeavor. Our sending church is Faith Community Church in Maple Plain, MN. My work experience is in quality control and computer testing so with our children getting older, I am freed up to work part-time in that area at TECH, helping to improve the quality of our software packages for churches and missions. I have worked with AWANA clubs for many years and know the value of having good computer record keeping software.

Vehicle Solutions

Charles

Charles Powers

Mechanic

Having been on short term mission trips, a desire to serve, and a recent job change, I heard from a friend that TECH Team Advantage was looking for help in Vehicle Solutions. I have worked 36 plus years as an automotive technician. Twenty of those years were are at car dealerships and the other sixteen years was with one of the largest private fleets. Having various certification over the years including ASE Master Tech for both cars and trucks as well as medium and heavy duty trucks. I have been with TECH since August 2015 and am looking forward to opportunities and challenges ahead.

Dan Larsen

Mechanic

I have known of TECH since my college days in the late 60’s. After graduation I taught auto mechanics for VW, Audi and then at LeToureau U (LETU). My wife and I served for 24 years at Master’s Mission in NC, training missionaries for remote missions. We retired to Longview TX where I now work part-time driving bus for LETU. I had helped my brother-in-law fix up a vehicle for furlough and then try to sell it when he returned to the field. The down time and expenses were high and the resale not good. As a result, in 2012 I began volunteering my skills as mechanic with TECH’s Vehicle Solutions program, helping missionaries on furlough with reliable affordable lease vehicles.

Kelvin Gunnells

Vehicle Solutions Assistant, TECH Rep, Member Care

After serving for nearly 26 years as a missionary with AWANA Clubs International, I never imagined I would be starting all over with a NEW ministry at the age of 64. Honestly, until recently, I had been thinking about what retirement would look like.
When an opportunity opened for us to serve with TECH Team Advantage, it became clear that this was God’s new direction for our lives.
With TECH Team being of great service to me personally during the past 26 years, I understand the value of offering technical services to Christian ministries.
While our ministry will be quite different from our service with AWANA, it is becoming clear to me that God has used our previous experience to prepare us for the opportunities He is presenting to us now.

Get INvolved and help make an impact on the world. TECH Team focuses on helping missions and churches spread the gospel and build the body of Christ more effectively.
